Took mom to get her eyes checked at Costco yesterday.

I was wondering if the experience would be the same as what I remember and comparable to going to a private practice eye doctor. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. The doctor did all the same exams and was thorough. She did refer mom to a specialist to check one thing that she was slightly concerned about. We ordered mom's new glasses from Costco also they were about $200.00 total. The exam was $65.00. We were very happy.

This little girl is the cutest co-pilot ever. She is pointing up to the sky as she discusses strategies with her pilots.

This photo was taken at the Olympic Air Show in Olympia Washington on Father's Day 2011. The crew is wearing their bomber jackets and parachutes. This picture leaves one wondering what the story is here as this group is immersed in conversation and the spectators mill around.

I was driving home yesterday on a normal day in June when I was suddenly aware of mother nature and the beautiful scenery that was nothing out of the ordinary near my home, but the lighting was superb and the sky intrigued me so I stopped my car and got my camera ready on my iPhone 4. Nobody was behind me so I could do this. As I just got my camera+ app open an amazing bird flew right in front of my car and took my breath away!

The wing span on this creature was incredible. It seemed to be almost as wide as my car. It was probably picking at a dead carcass in the grass on the left when I disturbed it's feeding. I sat and watched as it flew up over the field on the right and snapped a few more photographs.

I really love this shot with the barbed wire fence, grass, and multi colored sky with shades if cool grey and warm evening yellow. The shape of the bird can easily be seen as it flies through the air with ease.

These birds thrive on death which makes them a creepy subject. One would expect to see them on a dark and dreary night.

I was able to fancy up these shots with my trusty photography app arsenal which included picfx, photofx, CinemaFx, and dynamiclight.

Mother nature gives us beauty in so many different forms as we can see here with two pictures taken at the same place with totally different results.

Both of these shots are landscape views of farmland in Western Washington taken at the same spot along this country road. One is cropped in closer which is the top view and that one shows Mt Rainier in all it's glory as a beautiful backdrop for this farmhouse. The sky is orange from the sunset and simply amazing. The bottom view represents a stormy day and at this moment, the clouds look spectacular with white swirls as patches of blue dance around them.

The photo app that was used to create this framed picture that contains two photographs is called picframe and is available from the Apple AppStore. Some folks refer to this type of collage of pictures a diptic because there is also an app called "diptic" that does the same type of thing.
